Jerry Springer Meets with Molloy Communications Students

At the end of the Fall 2015 semester, daytime television host Jerry Springer came to Molloy College to speak to Communications students. The event was hosted by Professor Karen Beck for her Media Management class. Springer discussed several media topics including politics, his podcast and television show and why he will always defend the guests who appear. In giving advice for students on how to get into the television industry, Jerry mentioned that the opportunity came to him due to working in news. When discussing the Jerry Springer Show, he stated, “I still have fun doing the show. It’s the best job in the world and I will always have the better story when having dinner with friends.” Jerry sees the television industry moving to an all on demand platform in the next 5-10 years. Before leaving, he told students, “learning is the one thing in life you should be selfish about.”
