Television Studio & Control Room
Located in the basement of Wilbur Arts (W017), the Molloy College television studio comprises of high definition television studio equipment such as the Panasonic HPX 370 HD cameras, tripods, studio floor and full lighting grid. In the adjacent room next store (W016), houses the control room. In the control room, students will find additional high definition equipment to produce their television program or film. This HD equipment includes Yamaha LS9 audio board, For.A production switcher, AjA Ki Pro for digital recording, graphics computer, and smart television for multi-screen viewing.
Field Production Equipment
A full equipment room behind the television studio houses portable field equipment for our students to learn single camera location shooting. High definition equipment includes Sony HVR-Z5U cameras, Manfrotto tripods, portable lighting kits (including ARRI), and audio (wired & wireless lavalier, shotgun microphones with boom pole, & handheld microphones).
New Media Lab
Located in the basement of Wilbur Arts around the corner from the television studio (W004), the Communications Department’s new media lab hosts 24 iMac computers for the creation of digital content including video editing, web design, podcasts, and writing for the web. Video editing software includes Avid Media Composer 7, Final Cut Pro 7 & X, and Adobe Premiere Pro. Additional software includes the entire Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, After Effects, Dreamweaver, etc.), Motion, Compressor, Final Draft, iLife (iMovie, GarageBand), Microsoft Office, and much more!
